Major IPS Officers Reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh

In a significant administrative reshuffle on April 23, 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government transferred 15 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, aiming to enhance law enforcement efficiency across the state. Key Highlights of the Reshuffle:

Sudha Singh, previously serving as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Jhansi, has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Railway Police in Lucknow. An accomplished officer from the 2011 IPS batch, Singh hails from Azamgarh and has been recognized with several commendations, including the President’s Medal and multiple DG’s Commendation Discs. This reshuffle follows a recent administrative overhaul where 33 IAS officers, including 11 District Magistrates, were reassigned, and three senior IPS officers were transferred. The cumulative effect of these changes reflects the state government's commitment to dynamic governance and responsive law enforcement.
